Of all age groups, researchers found that teenagers are the most underestimated the number of calories in fast food. “We found that most people, especially teenagers, consume more calories than they expected when eating fast food or junk food,: said lead researcher Jason Block MD MPH, of Harvard Medical School as reported by the Huffington Post (24/05) . Teens underestimate the amount of calories they consume up to 34 percent. Parents of school children underestimate the number of calories consumed as much as 23 percent. While adults are underestimate the number of calories to 20 percent. On average, adults consume 836 calories, but thought only consume 175 calories. Parents of school children thought their children’s food amounted to 175 calories, when in fact amounted to 733 calories. While teenagers consume 756 calories thought they consume 259 calories. The study also found that most people underestimate the amount of calories they consume on the streets, rather than in fast food restaurants like McDonalds or Burger King. Previous research suggests that fast food facilities in the restaurant or on the roadside have the same quality as bad. Related Posts :
