Bipasha Basu’s Dress Drama At The IIFAA Ceremony

Bipasha Basu was surprised a bit at the green carpet of the IIFA awards. A fellow actress landed up wearing the same dress in a different color as me on the green carpet! It was quite amusing even for me,” shares the actress.
Following the incident, Bipasha has now decided to not make last minute choices. “Next time, I’ll plan my green carpet outfit in advance and not pull out things from my cupboard at the last minute,” she says, adding, “Anyways you can’t stop the world from buying the same things and keep a tab on all!”

Kangna Ranaut’s Hidden Talent Is Revealed

The Tanu of bollywood, Kangna Ranaut, seems to be going Salman Khan’s tried and tested route to win people’s hearts. Sources on the sets of Ranaut’s new film I Love New Year confirm that the actor takes the trouble to actually cook a hearty meal for most of her colleagues from the film.
“Not many know this, but Kangna loves to cook. In fact, she prefers to cook her favourite dishes herself. Initially, she would get non-vegetarian dishes like paya and the like for herself.
Her colleagues, Sunny Deol and other unit members tasted it and were floored. They requested her to pack in more for them too, the next time she entered the kitchen,” says the source, who is also a regular on the sets.
“Bas aur kya, Kangna has been bringing in dabba for the unit members she shares her lunch with ever since. And she says that she prepares it herself so it’s really sweet of her,” adds the source.
It may be recalled that the actress was being spoken about for her ‘attitude’ problem not so long back. Though she denied the buzz strongly, Ranaut seems to have learnedsoon enough that the key to building a good image is through your unit members tummies.
It’s a trait she perhaps picked up from her pal Khan, who is known to pamper people from his sets with homemade biryani, chicken and mutton delicacies.
When asked, Ranaut didn’t deny the story and admitted that she’s been packing in lunch for the unit members of I Love New Year.
“(Laughs) Whenever someone on the sets has tasted my food, they’ve loved it. So I couldn’t resist packing a dabba for everyone since then,” she said adding that she wakes up early in the morning to begin preparations for the meal.
“They specially like the non-vegetarian preparations — paya and biryani. Vinay (Sapru, the director), Sunny and the others gather in my vanity van and that’s where the meal is devoured,” says Ranaut.

Is It Priyanka Vs Kareena Again?

Recently when Salman was questioned about his fave co-star, he spoke about actor Kareena Kapoor with whom he’s currently shooting for Bodyguard calling her the “original desi girl”. Referring to her as angel-faced, Salman said, “Bebo is the original desi girl.” A tag that’s so far been associated with Chopra after her hit hot number of the same name in Dostana. Says an insider, “Salman’s ruling the roost in Bollywood and he has clearly usurped Chopra by crowning Kareena with what was almost Chopra ’s hold so far.”
Many even feel that what instigated Salman this time around was Chopra’s increasing proximity to frenemy actor Shah Rukh Khan.
This fresh volley of words may just spark another round of a cold war between Bebo and Chopra too, who are known to not be in a cordial relationship themselves, despite maintaining an ‘all is well’ stance on the surface. This, especially, after the cold vibes the two shared after Chopra dropped in unannounced on the sets of Kapoor’s beau actor, Saif Ali Khan to bond with Bebo’s boyfriend.
Interestingly, Salman and Saif are not the only Khans who seem to have a soft spot for Kapoor. The other Khans — Shah Rukh —too can’t stop praising his Ra.One co-star and even Aamir with whom Bebo’s doing her next has made exceptions only for her.

Hrithik Is The Best Dancer Of Film Industry : Says SRK

With ‘Just Dance’, Hrithik Roshan has made his debut to the small scren. While it was obvious that the show would grab eyeballs considering that it is Hrithik Roshan, arguably the best dancer in Bollywood and a superstar in his own right, who is judging the show, no one expected that it would generate such an excellent response from audiences. Positive reactions haven’t stopped pouring in ever since the show’s first telecast.
The most positive endorsement of Hrithik and his show has come from none other than Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh said,” When I think of dance, I think of Hrithik. For me, the two are synonymous with each other!” He further added that Hrithik is the most appropriate judge for any television show concerned with dance, since Hrithik is the best dancer in the film industry.
Several others have complimented Hrithik for his spectacular debut on small screen. While Akshay Kumar praised him for his fluent and refreshing dance moves, Deepika Padukone put Hrithik in the category of emotive dancers like Madhuri Dixit. Karan Johar too expressed his appreciation by saying that there can be no one else who could judge a dance show better than Hrithik Roshan and that the contestants in the show will find it really hard to match the expectations from them.

Tusshar Kapoor Is Planning To Become A Producer

Its been a busy year for Tusshar Kapoor. He has enjoyed two releases already and though LOVE U… MR. KALAKAAR! didn’t quite set the cash registers ringing, there was good critical appreciation that came in for SHOR IN THE CITY. Now he is gearing up for the September release of HUM TUM SHABANA.
One wonders though where he is on the production plans. After all it wasn’t too long ago that he was planning to turn a producer.
With sister Ekta seeing good success coming her way as a producer, what with her strategy of mixing low (RAGINI MMS), medium (THE DIRTY PICTURE) as well as high budget (ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI - 2) films well, is he looking forward to going independent as well?
“See I won’t deny that there is a thought in my mind about turning a producer, “confesses Tusshar, “However as of now I don’t have any major plans per se. I have just discussed with a few close associates that I aspire to turn a producer but it is untrue that there is something concrete already in place.”

Ranbir Kapoor & Imran Khan - Friends Or Foes?

Bollywood is full of news, gossips, glamour and rumours. There have been numerous stories doing the rounds about the equation shared by Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Sometimes, they are shown to be best buddies, while sometimes they are portrayed to be arch rivals.
Ask Imran if he’s competing with Ranbir and he says, ‘It really doesn’t make sense to me. Someone else’s success and failure doesn’t affect my success and failure. Tomorrow if Ranbir’s film does well, it doesn’t damage my film in anyway. If Ranbir’s film fails, it doesn’t help my film.’
Ranbir and Imran were all set to battle it out at the box office as ROCKSTAR and MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN were scheduled to release on the same date i.e. September 9th. But that has been averted as ROCKSTAR’s release date has been postponed.

Acting Comes Natural To Amitabh Bachchan; He Follows No Methods

You must be thinking that how can Big B manage to perform so well for the roles like he is playing in his upcoming flick.
He was answering a similar question for his film BBUDDAH-HOGA TERRA BAAP. This actor does not prepare. He just acts and has very little faith in the ‘method’ theory of acting first propounded by the Russian actor and theatre director Constantin Stanislavsky and later popularised by Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg who trained thespians like Brando, Niro and Pacino.
We also have our ‘method actors’ in Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri, and a whole lot of new-gen practitioners of the craft who go through an intense process of preparation for their ’serious’ and ‘meaningful’ roles. Our cerebral Khan is also believed to be a kind of a follower of the ‘method school’ since he takes his own sweet time getting into his intense characters and then coming out of them.

Yash Chopra To Direct Katrina, Shahrukh & Anushka In His Next Flick

Yash Chopra is back to his directorial shoes. As Yashji put it earlier, “Everyone knows that when I make a movie, Shahrukh will be involved with it. He is like family to YRF and I have always regarded him as one of my own.”
However, after days of media conjecturing, YRF confirms the two ladies, who will also be a part of this project - one is Katrina Kaif, who will be playing a role opposite Shahrukh for the very first time, and other Anushka Sharma, who was launched in RAB NE BANA DI JODI, alongside Shahrukh.
Orchestrated by Yash Chopra, this untitled movie will mark the coming together yet again of the award winning duo of the music maestro A. R. Rahman and the poet & lyricist, Gulzar.
The film is scheduled for a Diwali 2012 release, the festive time when Yash Chopra movies over the years have lit up homes worldwide.

Shahrukh Dances To The Tunes Of Salman At IIFA Awards

Despite of his knee injury the Bollywood badshah Shahrukh Khan chose to make his audience dance to his steps, and Salman Khan’s too!
“If I can’t dance, I’ll make sure everyone dances here in Toronto tonight,” he said as he spoke to the over 20,000-strong audience at the Roger’s Centre for the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony on Saturday night.
The 45-year-old, who kept making off-and-on appearances on stage during the event, was the grand finale performer. Though his performance started with a bang with the peppy number Say shava shava, but within a minute it ended leaving fans disappointed.
Little did anyone know that Shah Rukh had more in store for his fans.
“Today, I’ll teach you guys different techniques used in Bollywood dancing,” he told his fans.
He took the help of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s troupe members in getting thousands of people dancing in the stadium, a key landmark in Toronto.
Teaching his fans how to sway to Say shava shava, Shah Rukh suggested the fans to presume they had to “pull the flush and knock the door”.
Shah Rukh threw another surprise when he chose the title track of his friend-turned-foe Salman Khan’s Dabangg for the activity. He even imitated the typical Salman step wherein he keeps his hands inside the pants’ pockets, and moves them side to side.
“This step was made because the trousers were made extremely lose,” he quipped.
Aamir’s Khandaala and Jeetendra’s Dhal gaya din were also on Shah Rukh’s list of dance numbers to be taught. He had colourful hankerchieves and brooms as props for his dance class!
Trust Shah Rukh to engage his audience like no one does.
The audience was, of course, more than elated.
“This gesture of Shah Rukh of teaching us dance steps was very cool. We felt like a part of the whole celebration, and not just spectators,” Riddhima Roy, a 20-year-old, said.
A foreigner said, “It’s a great way to learn Bollywood dancing in a humourous way!”

Arshad Loses It To Arjun Rampal

Everything is fair in love and award functions. Arjun Rampal won the best supporting actor award for his role in Rajneeti at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony. That has not gone down too well with Maria Goretti, wife of actor Arshad Warsi who was also nominated in the same category.
“Arjun won over Arshad … For best supporting actor, unbelievably stupid I say, if Manoj Bajpai won would not feel so bad… filmy politics,” Maria posted on Twitter after the award was announced Saturday in Toronto.
Arjun portrayed a politician in Rajneeti while Arshad was nominated for his performance in Ishqiya.
Others who were nominated were Mithun Chakraborty for Golmaal 3, Emraan Hashmi for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and Manoj Bajpayi for Raajneeti

Will Item Boys Replace Item Girls?

Perfectionist Aamir Khan, feels that its timefor the item boys to replace the item girls of the bollywood. He himself has done the same in his upcoming adult comedy Delhi Belly.
“As far as the item dance done by me is concerned, it is a warning to Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone that the era of item girls is over… now it’s time for item boys,” Aamir said on Saturday at a promotional event of Ke Hobe Banglar Kotipoti, the Bengali version of Kaun Banege Crorepati, being broadcast on Mahuaa Bangla.
Aamir pays tribute to the disco era of Indian cinema of the 1980s.
Now is the time for item boys: Aamir
