Priyanka Chopra’s Problems With Anurag Basu’s Barfee

It seems Priyanka Chopra isn’t relishing the taste of “Barfee” after all. According to reports, the shooting of Anurag Basu’s next, “Barfee”, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and south siren Ileana D’Cruz, has landed in problems due to a fight between the leading ladies.
Our sources tell us that Ileana, who is making her debut in Bollywood with this film, was apprehensive about getting overshadowed by Priyanka, and hence demanded more screen time as well as extra songs. (..can’t blame her after seeing what happened to Kangana Ranaut in Fashion, can we?) This was not likely to go down well with Piggy Chops who has done a vanishing act from the Barfee shoot.
As a result, the shoot, which is scheduled to start this week, will resume without Priyanka!
Even the next schedule in Darjeeling has only Ranbir and Ileana. It is not clear when, or rather whether, Priyanka will join them. According to a source, Priyanka is currently busy shooting for Kunal Kohli’s next. Munni Malaika Leaves Sheila Katrina Behind

There is war still raging between Munni and Sheila and there is no stopping either team vying for the top spot when it comes to being tagged the most popular item number of the previous year. While both the songs - Munni Badnaam and Sheila ki Jawaani have won several accolades at different award functions, this time around Munni beat Sheila hands down.
At the recently conducted public poll to vote for the ‘Sensation of the Year’ award organised by a TV channel, Malaika Arora Khan raced past Katrina Kaif to win the trophy for her sizzling performance in Munni Badnaam… in last year’s blockbuster Dabangg.
Notorious for usually keeping the media waiting, Malaika remained true to her image as she emerged straight out of a photoshoot after almost an hour and half post the scheduled time of this interview.
Everyone wants a ‘Munni’ or a ‘Sheila’: Malaika
Least bit unfazed about the delay, with that smouldering look on her face and that infamous pout, she settles down to have a chat with us. “It is a wonderful feeling,” she says and adds, “Generally, it’s for a film that a person gets an award. Now even a song has its own award. It is truly a first time!”
Malaika echoes what is on the minds of a lot of film enthusiasts these days. “Everyone wants a Munni or a Sheila these days. There is bound to be a comparison between the two and it is a wonderful feeling to win. I have created a benchmark and everyone wants to meet that. It is the greatest compliment,” Malaika says.
Being a part of a National Award winning film like Dabangg and having her husband all set to direct its sequel is reason enough for Malaika to sport that perpetual smile on her face. But she admits, that working on the sequel will also bring in a lot of pressure on the Khan family. She points out, “Yes, there will be pressure. It will be a big challenge. But we will aim for higher. Arbaaz is directing the sequel. He has always wanted to direct films. It will be his maiden directorial venture and yes, we all are very excited.”
Without making even a faint reference to Katrina (who happens to be bro-in-law Salman’s ex), she says she is glad her Munni beat Sheila hands down, this time. “In a year, there are so many award functions. Sometimes Munni has won, and sometimes Sheila…But I am happy, this time around, it is I who won,” quips Malaika with a smile that dazzles all around her.

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has apparently convinced actress Karisma Kapoor to make a comeback with his slick 3D thriller Dangerous Ishq.
Said a source close to the project, “Vikram has met Karisma several times. She loves the script of Dangerous Ishq. It has an author-backed role for her with many shades. Just the kind of character she has been looking for.”
“She has made up her mind to do the film,” the source added.
Karisma making a comeback in Vikram Bhatt’s next?
Bhatt was determined to get Karisma at any price. He could afford it after Haunted, which has become the highest-grossing horror film in India of all times.
Bhatt said, “Yes, Haunted had made a huge profit. And yes I can afford to pay my stars well. It’s a powerful role for a 30-plus actress who is stunning and talented.”

Rani Mukherjee To Do An Item Number?

“After the success of NO ONE KILLED JESSICA, rumours were flying thick that Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala were very keen to bring Rani on board for a specially designed item number in HOUSEFULL 2,” informs a source, “It would have been special because in her decade long career so far, Rani has done only one item number for a film where she is not a lead actress. That was for ‘Kaali Nagin’ opposite Aamir Khan in MANN.”
What would have made this item number further special is Rani being in the same film as Akshay. Though confirmation is yet awaited on whether Akshay and other boys (John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade) would feature in the item song, it seems like a tempting preposition, especially after ‘Dhanno’ (Jacqueline, Akshay, Arjun, Riteish).
“It would have been a casting coup, albeit for just a few minutes, had Akshay and Rani come together. Can you believe it that though Akshay has practically worked with actresses across generation, Rani is the only one who has never been paired opposite him,” quips a prominent film-maker. Sajid Khan too doesn’t help the cause by stating that no one has been finalised yet for the item number.

After discovering her hidden talent, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan played god father to Beena Kak’s daughter Amrita Kak and gave her a big break in the music industry with the song from his movie MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA.
Says a source, “Salman Khan who is Amrita’s rakhi brother has always been supportive of her talent and encouraged the singer in her. In spite of having a packed schedule he flew down to Jaipur to be part of her recent marriage celebrations.”
Reveals Amrita Kak, “My voice had a bit of a husky texture and I didn’t know whether it would work in Bollywood…When I was in the 8th grade and was visiting home for my summer holidays Salman bhai saw this tanpura lying in my room and figured that I sing…he started asking me to take singing seriously and each time he’d see me he would ask me to sing a line or two which was just his way of asking me to open up slowly and come out of my shell.”
And now, when it comes to singing dance numbers, Kak is up there among other contenders thanks to the runaway success of ‘Character Dheela Hai’ - the chartbuster from READY.
“While I was studying in Mumbai Salman bhai gave me this opportunity to sing and put me in touch with Sajid -Wajid so that I could polish my skills. I started doing regular riyaz with their mama and my guruji -Sarfaraz Khan…and ever since there has been no looking back,” adds the singer.

Actor Shahrukh Khan has finally ended his enmity with once best friend, director-choreographer Farah Khan. Recently, at a public event the actor complimented her saying that working with Farah is one of the nicest thing that happened. Kanika Dhillon, who wrote Shahrukh Khan’s biography, ‘Bombay Duck Is A Fish’ and has also co-written Ra.One, has assisted Farah Khan during the film Om Shanti Om (2007). Shahrukh pointed out that Kanika got the finest tutor in Farah during Om Shanti Om.

One can’t deny the fact that there are a lot of expectations from DOUBLE DHAMAAL due to it being a franchise. Sonu Sood Insults Big B In Bbuddah…Hoga Terra Baap

Everyone is aware that Mr. Bachchan is returning as an angry man, albeit a lot older, in BBUDDAH-HOGA TERA BAAP. What is not known though is that the film also recreates a scene from ZANJEER.
“Just like Pran was thrown out by Bachchan in ZANJEER, Sonu Sood (who plays a cop) turns the table around by doing the same for Bachchan here. What remains constant though is the elan and dignity with which the senior actors were treated then as well as today,” informs a source.
Recreation of the ZANJEER scene does make sense, especially since this was the film that marked Bachchan’s comeback in Bollywood. Also, this was the most important scene of ZANJEER and had firmly established the no-nonsense approach of the cop’s character that Bachchan was enacting in the Prakash Mehra directed film.
“Pran had his head high when he left the police station despite being humiliated. In BBUDDAH…HOGA TERRA BAAP too, one can be rest assured that the ultimate winner would be Bachchan. It would be sacrilege to pull down such a mighty personality. However the way the scene unfolds is very exciting. Ultimately there is no loser and Bachchan fans won’t feel let down for sure,” continues the source.
This is something that Bachchan’s ardent fan, admirer and follower, Sonu, too acknowledges and agrees. “Ask me! Here I was standing up in front of the man who is the baap of us all when it comes to acting and clout. And there I had to recreate that ‘Zanjeer’ scene while being on the other side of the table. I felt so strange when I had to shoot for this scene.”
It was Bachchan himself who came forward to help when he realised that Sonu was being anxious about the scene. “There are many other volatile scenes in the film as well and it was great to take tips from him,” says Sonu, “I was happy to be a good student there.”
