Computer Games Treating Depression

According to a new study of 3D computer games can be equally effective in treating depression, anxiety and pessimism in adolescence as well as the traditional way conversation with the therapist.

The British Medical Journal published a study that suggests a new way to overcome or alleviate mental problems in young people. It is now an increase in which young people do not want to seek professional help.

Complete recovery was achieved significantly more young people in the group who played computer games in comparison to what is traditionally passed treatment.

Total 44 percent of those who have completed at least four of the seven modules in Sparx recover, compared with 26 percent of those treated in the traditional way.

The study’s authors believe computer game Sparx recommended as help adolescents with depression in primary care.

The researchers emphasize that the use of a computer program resulted in clinically significant reduction in depression, anxiety and pessimism, and thus improve the quality of life for young people.

Application of computer games Sparx is cheap and affordable way to helping teenagers with mental disabilities.

The majority of young people who have played the Sparx said she believes the game can help other teens, and would therefore recommend to a friend. In the group that underwent traditional treatment of young people were also satisfied with their improved health status.
