The Allahabad High Court today issued notices to Salman Khan and Anees Bazmi, the hero and director of the recently released film Ready, besides the Central Film Certification Board on a PIL seeking stay on public exhibition of the movie.
A vacation division bench of Lucknow comprising Justices Devi Prasad Singh and Justice Rajiv Sharma also directed them to file reply within three weeks.
The court directed that rejoinder may be filed within two weeks thereafter by the petitioner.
The PIL was moved jointly by chairman of Hindu Personal Law Board and local lawyer Ashok Pandey and its general secretary Vinod Shanker Mishra raising objection to the song ‘Character Dheela’ and had also sought direction to cancel certification of the movie.
The movie starring Salman Khan and Asin has been released on June 3.
The petitioner submitted that the song having ‘raas leela’ in its lyric, being aired on television channels is indecent and an attack on the Sanatan dharma. Source
