Get Ready For ‘The Preity Zinta Show’

After the likes of Big B, Shahrukh, Karan Johar and a ‘host’ of other Bollywood celebrities, it is now the turn of pretty lady Preity Zinta to make her appearance on the small screen.
The actress has agreed to host UTV’s ‘The Preity Zinta Show’ for its new Bollywood channel UTV Stars, to be produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Idiot Box division.
The show is slated to go on air on August 19. It is rumoured that Abhishek Bachchan would be the first guest.
This is not the first time Preity Zinta is hosting a show on television. Earlier she had anchored Guinness Book of World Records: Ab India Todega on Colors.
However, she had badly wanted to host a chat show, and since 2009 she was looking out for an offer. A source close to the actress revealed that Preity is highly excited about the project.
At the same time, she will also be working on debut home production movie.

Hrithik Roshan Donates A School Bus

‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobbara’ has taken chocolate actor and dancing hero, Hrithik Roshan, to new heights in Bollywood industry. The increasing popularity of Hrithik has inspired him to do some more charity work. We heard recently about Salman’s charity work, and even that he has extended his charity to Dubai. Now its Hrithik’s turn.
But, Hrithik’s philanthropy is quite different. He visited a special school in Mumbai, where the underprivileged, specially-abled kids were excited to meet him. He joined them in dancing to the tune of his ‘Zindagi Na Milege Dobbara’ movie’s popular number,’Senorita’.
Later, he announced providing of a brand new school bus for the school kids as part of his charity initiative.

Priyanka & Bipasha In A Hot Item Number

Priyanka Chopra in a grunge look and Bipasha Basu in a gypsy zippered dress will feature in a hip-hop number in Ganesh Hegde’s latest album Lets Party.
The song, Mind Blowing, took four days to shoot at a studio in Mumbai. Audiences will see the two leading ladies dancing to the song, which is sung, styled and choreographed by Hegde himself.
“Both Bipasha and Priyanka epitomise all the qualities I’m raving about in the song. I was with each of them for a day and shooting was a breeze,” Hegde said in a statement.
Talking about the look and styling of the song, he said: “Bipasha sports a fringe, gypsy hoops and zippered dress. The fringe was Bipasha’s idea. She fell in love with the song instantly and wanted a look that was different from anything you’ve seen on screen before. She looks like a rockstar!
“Priyanka’s also in black, but her look is more Beyonce and her ‘attitude’ inherent to her is on show.”

Simi Garewal’s Most Touchy Moment On India’s Most Desirable

Simi Garewal is chugging along, mostly in white, trapping younglings on her show, Simi Selects India’s Most Desirable. Despite the brickbats and the ratings, the show rolls on. And perhaps the question above should be rephrased to ask ‘With whom was Simi most painful?’
I’d say Ranbir Kapoor and end the debate there after that one legendary episode which kicked off the new show, one of the most atrocious things in the history of television.
But masochistic editors decreed that I watch every episode just to make sure Simi didn’t go even ‘better’ than episode one. (She didn’t. Believe me.)
Here, however, are eight episodes recapped, me biting the bullets you hopefully missed. Which episode did you personally howl at the most? What was actually watchable? Do vote, dear reader.
Ah, this was the beginning that led us to believe we were in for a special show. Ranbir sat down and looked meek while Simi consummately clawed off his street-cred, showing a mother’s boy instead of the rated-R superstar we’d all come to believe was the next film industry star.
The highlight of the episode of course was when Garewal suddenly went into parakeet mode as she became Ranbir’s fictional girlfriend Kiki, a monstrous insult to girlfriends everywhere.

The latest buzz in tinsel town is that Vidya Balan has secretly married her beau, UTV top honcho Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Fans and movie buffs are on an overdrive on twitter commenting on the issue and discussing it at length.
Is this then going to be another secret marriage in Bollywood? The actress has on several occasion denied having a relationship with Roy. She has maintained that they are ‘just good friends’. However, according to rumours, the actress not only married Roy in a secret ceremony last week, but is already off on their honeymoon to an undisclosed location.

Expect Superb Action In Salman Khan’s Bodyguard

“Post Wanted and Dabangg, Salman knows his bearings quite well. He has constantly reinvented himself and in the current phase of his career he understands that ‘masala’ is in. This is the reason why even in a family entertainer like Ready, there were a few action sequences included though they were more in a lighter vein.
However in Bodyguard, the core of which is an emotional romantic drama, there are quite a few hardcore action sequences included as well to make it a ‘masala’ affair”, says a source attached to the film’s writing team.
This made sense as well since the film’s title pretty much gives an impression of an action flick. Since Salman plays Kareena’s bodyguard in the film, audience are bound to expect a few stylised sequences that would involve their hero bashing up dozens of goons in one go.

Amitabh To Play The Role Of A Detective In Gowariker’s Next

It’s Shahenshah for the ace filmmaker’s next venture, our birdies found out. Buzz in the circles is that Ashutosh Gowariker, the talent house behind movies like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’, ‘Jodhaa Akbar’, has planned a movie with mega star Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
In his last movie ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, Gowariker had the icon’s son Abhishek Bachchan.
Birdies shared that Big B will don the role of a detective in Gowariker’s forthcoming venture and some even say that it is going to be a la James Bond character. We don’t know how far this is true, but it is believed that Amitabh loved the story and his role and instantly gave his nod for the project.
Sr. Bachchan had earlier worked in Gowariker’s film ‘Lagaan’, by giving his voice for the narration part.

While it is exciting to see Kareena Kapoor joining the ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2′ team, the talented beauty has showed some reservations regarding her role in the film.
The actress, who is playing Dawood’s lady love Mandakini, has strictly refused to go bold for the character.
Now as all know, Mandakini became sensation back in 1985 for the scene in ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ where she features sitting under a waterfall wearing a white flimsy saree. ‘OUATIM 2′ said to be having a similar scene for introducing the female lead.
So taking this in account, Kareena said to have showed her discomfort in featuring in such titillating avatar and has even voiced her refusal to the director himself. Following this the two are now discussing over the issue, since Luthria is keen to bring forth Mandakini’s signature scene as it will only help people to connect with classic actress. But at the same time doesn’t want Kareena to go too bold in his film.
Sources say that the director, who is quite kicked to have Kareena in the project, might rework on the script to suit her sensibilities.
The shooting of ‘OUATIM 2′ is expected to start from January and things are being readied for it in full swing.
