Ajay Devgn Clears Rumours Of Any Similarity Between Singham & Dabangg

With the promos coming out, Ajay Devgn’s  SINGHAM is touted to be another DABANGG and a lot of comparisons are being made with respect to action sequences and presenting style. However, Ajay makes it clear that there is no similarity between the two.
Says Ajay, “We have nothing to do with DABANGG. The only similarity is that both are wearing uniform. The story is same but whole screenplay is changed.”
Furthermore Ajay says that the action in SINGHAM is in a raw format though presented in stylized manner as compared to other action movies, “It’s a very raw action presented into a stylized manner which has not happened earlier. Either it’s a raw action or its stylized action which we have seen till date.”
Talking about his role in SINGHAM, Ajay once again plays a cop. But this cop is pretty different from what he played all these years. Reveals Ajay, “The SINGHAM cop is more aggressive. If you compare with GANGAJAL cop, he stuck by the law, went by the book. He did not take law in his hands. Whereas this guy is more simple. He does what he feels right.”
Directed by Rohit Shetty SINGHAM is all set to release on 22nd July 2011.

How Sonam Kapoor Keeps Everyone Happy?

This is indeed the most hyped film after the ones that have released. Sonam and Shahid’s love story MAUSAM unveiled their first theatrical recently, and sources now reveal that Sonam was almost about to give it a miss.
Apparently, Sonam’s schedule was pre-booked and her dates were blocked for the shoot of her film PLAYERS. They were combination dates and it was the last four days of her shoot so there was a lot to finish.
On the other hand, Sonam also wanted to be present at the launch of their first theatrical of MAUSAM.
Sonam knew it was a toughie yet requested the producers to give her few hours leave so that she can attend the launch and then come back for the rest of her shoot as both the films were important to her.
After a lot of to and fros Sonam finally got a green light, came at the launch interacted with one and all and quickly joined her shooting schedule, so much so that she stayed on the sets till late night and finished all that was required for the day.

Katrina Takes Direction Lessons From Farhan Akhtar

This is something that can be called a surprise. Katrina Kaif now wants to turn director. And she’s pulling out all the stops to make sure this dream comes true, including roping in her her Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara co-star, Actor/Director Farhan Akhtar, to teach her the tricks of the trade.
Says Farhan, “Katrina has always been someone who’s very eager to learn. In fact, I think we are all always learning in some way or the other. I don’t really consider myself qualified enough to be a mentor, but yes I would love to help in whatever way I can.”
The camaraderie between the actors is evident, and not just on screen. At Kat’s request, Farhan is now letting her edit one of the sequences of his forthcoming film Don 2.
“She wants to learn about post-production, and I was more than happy to let her edit one of the scenes in Don 2. Of course, I also warned her that I won’t promise to include that sequence in the film,” he grins.
For over a year now the actress has been looking to broaden her horizons and look beyond the screen.
First, she wanted to turn producer by purchasing the rights of a French film, and now she wants to play the captain of the ship with a directorial debut. Clearly, a film like Zindagi directed by a woman director has inspired her even more.

Shahrukh Stopped At Mumbai Airport For Excessive Baggage

Shahrukh Khan is facing repeated problems at the airports recently. He was halted and interrogated by custom authorities at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport while returning from London on Thursday.
A source informs, “SRK had gone on a family holiday to Holland and London. On his way back he was carrying with him about 20 bags. Thus, the custom officials at airport interrogated him, while his family was allowed to go.
The interrogation was conducted by a team of deputy collector, Customs, Sameer Wankhede. Shah Rukh had to pay a duty of approximately Rs 1.5 lakh.”

Emraan Hashmi Is Enjoying The Success Of Murder 2

‘Murder 2′ has not just turned out to be the biggest success ever for the Bhatt camp; it is now already Emraan’s biggest grosser till date when it comes to his solo releases. While ‘Jannat’ had done just a little in the upwards of 30 crores, ‘Murder 2′ with it’s 36 crores tag is already sitting pretty at superhit mark with very good chances of making further progress.
The film is also special for Emraan since after Salman, it is he who has enjoyed maximum footfalls in the opening week. Even though ‘Double Dhamaal’ as well as ‘Delhi Belly’ had netted similar collections (in the range of 36 crores after one week), Emraan’s film has managed to elbow them out, hence enabling him to sit pretty in elite company.
For Bollywood, which has forever been hunting for a saleable star beyond the obvious Top-5, here is an answer now with Emraan adding on to yet another success to his ever increasing repertoire.

Surprise For Gul Panag At The Mumbai Airport

Bollywood beauty Gul Panag just returned to Mumbai from Toronto, and she used this trip to learn a bit about the custom rules at the Mumbai International Airport. After all many actresses such as Bipasha Basu, Anushka Sharma, Minissha Lamba have been detained at the airport in the recent past for non-declaration of goods!
Well, Gul has returned to Mumbai wilth some information… The lady was shocked to find that a ‘polite custom official’ at the Mumbai airport asked her if she had anything to declare. When Gul said no, he didn’t even check her bag, and this left the actress wondering… She wrote on her micr-blogging site: When I asked the custom officer why he didn’t scan my bag,he said ( after last “high profile” cases) people are expected to self declare.
So chat with MIA Customs Officer confirmed what I thought:- bags are scanned randomly & unless tipped off or ‘profiled’ - like world-over (sic).
Well, it’s a good thing that actors are keeping their eyes and ears wide open these days especially at the Mumbai airport and around custom officials.
